AI Tool Stack’s ChatGPT Witnesses First Monthly Traffic Decline Since Launch

OpenAI’s ChatGPT, an AI chatbot, experienced explosive growth since its launch in November 2022, quickly amassing 100 million active users by January 2023. However, recent data from Similarweb indicates a decline in monthly traffic and unique visitors in June. Worldwide desktop and mobile web traffic dropped by 9.7% from May to June, with the US alone experiencing a 10.3% decline. Visitors also spent less time on the site, with an 8.5% decrease in time spent on chat.openai.com. David F. Carr, senior insights manager at Similarweb, suggests that this decline signifies a waning interest in ChatGPT and a need for chatbots to prove their value.
