Introducing the Ultimate Kickstarter: Robot Vacuum with Home Water Connection

SwitchBot, known for its automation products such as window curtain and blind controllers, smart locks, and button-pushing robots, is now making its entry into the robot vacuum and mop market with the Switchbot S10. This innovative device connects to your home’s plumbing system to refill its water tank and drain dirty water, eliminating the need for manual tank emptying or water refilling.

One unique feature of the Switchbot S10 is its ability to autonomously add water to the SwitchBot Humidifier 2, creating a seamless and convenient experience for users. The device comes with a charging dock that automatically empties the dustbin after vacuuming, and a separate station that can be set up in a bathroom or kitchen to connect to the water supply. The robot goes out to clean and stops by the plumbed station to refill and drain, powered by its built-in battery.

The Switchbot S10 recently launched on Kickstarter with a funding goal of $10,000. However, it has already gained significant traction and is close to reaching the $1 million mark in pledges. While the retail price is set at $1,200, early bird backers can avail it for $799 through the crowdfunding platform. It’s important to note that crowdfunding ventures like this carry risks and do not offer guarantees.

The SwitchBot S10 offers several high-end features typically found in robot vacuum and mop combos. These include lidar mapping, obstacle avoidance, virtual no-go zones, and room-specific cleaning. The device can also automatically detect carpets and lift its mop roller while stopping the water spray until it returns to hard floors.

Unlike traditional mop pads, the SwitchBot S10 comes with a rolling mop accessory that can be continuously washed during cleaning. It can clean at a rate of 300 times per minute, with a constant spray of clean water and a built-in scrubber to remove dust and debris. The roller can be easily removed or replaced through a hatch on the side.

To complement the S10, SwitchBot is also launching the Humidifier 2, which seamlessly integrates with the robot vacuum. The S10 can fill the humidifier with fresh water from the water station, further enhancing the automation and convenience of the system.

The SwitchBot S10 marks the company’s first foray into the robot vacuum market in the United States. Orders are expected to start shipping in March 2024, allowing consumers to experience the benefits of this advanced cleaning solution.

In conclusion, SwitchBot’s entry into the robot vacuum and mop market with the SwitchBot S10 brings a range of innovative features and automation capabilities. With its ability to connect to the home’s plumbing system, lidar mapping, obstacle avoidance, and room-specific cleaning, the S10 offers a unique and convenient cleaning experience. Combined with the rolling mop accessory and compatibility with the SwitchBot Humidifier 2, this device is set to revolutionize household cleaning tasks. However, it’s important to be aware of the risks associated with crowdfunding campaigns and consider them before making a purchase.
