Instagram’s “Backdrop” feature is a useful tool for users who want to post fun and original stories on the platform. With limited editing options for stories, it can be challenging to create engaging content quickly. However, the in-app generative AI feature of Instagram provides a solution. Although the feature may have gone unnoticed since its launch last month, it offers an intuitive and efficient way to change the background of Instagram stories.
I accidentally stumbled upon the “Backdrop” feature and decided to test it out. I was pleased with the results as it was easy to use and achieved the desired effect. Moving forward, I plan to incorporate this feature into my Instagram story game. If you’re interested in trying it out for yourself, follow the simple steps outlined below.
To use Instagram’s AI Backdrop feature, you need to have the Instagram app installed on your iPhone or Android device. Once you have the app downloaded, sign in to get started. From your Instagram homepage, swipe right or click on your profile picture at the top left-hand corner to create a story as you normally would. Then, select the photo you want to share.
The Backdrop icon can be found next to the text icon on the top banner. Clicking on it will initiate the feature, which will process your photo and automatically highlight different areas. You can then choose which parts of the photo you want to keep when generating a new backdrop. For example, you can select specific objects or elements within the photo.
After selecting the desired areas, you have the option to enter a prompt in English to define the new background. The prompt can be as detailed or simple as you prefer. In my case, I wanted a light pink background, so I typed in “baby pink background.” Once you enter your prompt, you can choose to proceed with the generated results or tap the restart button for new outcomes based on the same prompt. If you wish to make adjustments to the prompt, you can edit it or enter a new one.
Once you are satisfied with the results, you can proceed to edit the new photo just like any other photo. Add text, stickers, and music to enhance your creation. When you are done, you can share the photo with your followers and post it.
In conclusion, Instagram’s “Backdrop” feature offers a convenient way to change the background of your Instagram stories. With its intuitive interface and customizable options, users can easily create engaging and unique content. Whether you want to highlight specific elements in a photo or simply change the background color, this feature provides a quick and efficient solution. Give it a try and elevate your Instagram story game.
