CES 2024: Top Products to Look Out For
CES has always been known for showcasing flashy products that never make it to market. However, this year’s CES had a refreshing change with a number of real product launches and impressive pitches for recently released tech gadgets. ZDNET has even posted its editor’s pick for the best of show. Here are my personal top five products that I would eagerly buy as soon as they become available.
1. Roborock Flexi Pro
Roborock has consistently impressed with its robot vacuums over the past few years. Despite not being the first to market, they have managed to out-innovate the competition by creating 2-in-1 robots that vacuum, mop, and work more reliably. I had the opportunity to speak with Roborock’s president, Quan Gang, at CES and he shared that the company’s initial products were scrapped due to quality concerns. However, their third product was a hit and they are now one of the top-selling robovac makers globally. While the Roborock Flexi Pro is not a robovac, it caught my attention. It is a smart, upright, wet/dry vacuum with a beautiful design, self-cleaning capabilities, and powerful suction. I am eagerly awaiting more information on its price and release date.
2. Ecobee Smart Doorbell Camera
Ecobee’s late entry into the smart doorbell market raised eyebrows. However, after experiencing a demo and speaking with Ecobee CEO Greg Fyke at CES, I was impressed by their commitment to improving existing products. The Ecobee Smart Doorbell Camera addresses a common issue with other doorbell cameras – limited field of view. Most doorbell cameras cannot capture packages placed right in front of the door. However, the Ecobee doorbell has a 175-degree field of view, solving this problem. Additionally, it can be viewed on Ecobee thermostats and Apple Watches, and even used as a doorbell chime. Priced at $160, it is available now and I would love to replace my current two-camera setup with it.
3. Samsung S95D OLED TV
The Samsung S95D OLED TV is undoubtedly the best TV of CES 2024 in terms of picture quality. Last year’s model was already among the top three TVs in the world, alongside LG and Sony. However, Samsung introduced a game-changing feature at CES – a glare-free screen. OLED TVs have always struggled with glare, making them less suitable for bright rooms. The S95D overcomes this issue with its new anti-reflective display, dispersing intense light and providing an immersive viewing experience. Pricing is yet to be announced, but it is expected to start around $2,500 for a 55-inch model.
4. Vasco Translator E1
The Vasco Translator E1 is an impressive earpiece that utilizes AI and an app to translate 49 languages in real-time. The demo at CES left a lasting impression, showcasing its accuracy and ease of use. This device has the potential to revolutionize communication for travelers and language learners. I am excited to see how it performs in real-world scenarios.
